Anima - Online consultation

We would like to inform our patients that from Monday 27th January 2025 we will be changing our online consultation requests from e-Consult to Anima. 

Patients will still be able to book online consultations via our website / Anima but will need to create an Anima account first.

We recommend you set this up ahead of the go-live date, 27th January 2025.

Guildhall Surgery is NOT adopting a total triage system and this will only effect online consultation requests. Anima is only replacing our current online consultation request system, E-Consult.

FAQs

What are the opening times for Anima?

We aim to have Anima open from 08.00 – 16:00 every weekday.

Occasionally we may have to close Anima early, see below for more details

Why Is Anima closed?

On some days, demand for a GP appointment far outweighs the safe capacity we can provide. On these days, we may have to turn Anima off early because we are full and you may have to submit your health concern the following working day. If you find Anima is closed and your health concern is urgent, please contact our reception team via telephone. If you require medical assistance outside of surgery opening hours please use the NHS 111 service, or in an emergency dial 999 or attend Hosptial Accident & Emergency department.

Anima will not be available on bank holidays or when the surgery is closed (see Opening Hours). 

How soon will I hear back?

We aim to respond to all queries the same day.

Some more routine queries may take us a few days to get back to you, however you can always check the status of your query via your Anima dashboard.

What happens if I can’t access the internet or don’t feel confident using it?

Appointments are still bookable via telephone and our reception team will be happy to help.

Why have we changed to Anima?

Anima captures more in-depth medical information/history and will help the administration team to signpost you to the most appropriate clinician more effectively.

Can I use Anima to request a repeat prescription?

We will not be accepting repeat prescription requests via Anima at this time as currently the process of requesting medication through Anima is not the easiest way. We would recommend you use the NHS app to request your repeat prescriptions or you can continue to request your repeat items: -  

  • using the repeat prescription form attached to your previous prescription, put a tick against the medication you require and pop it through the letterbox.
  • By post - Please address all repeat prescription requests to the 'Prescription Team' at the surgery

Please allow TWO FULL WORKING DAYS for prescriptions to be processed and to arrive at your nominated Pharmacy and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.  Further information here.

Can I book nurse appointments through Anima?

The only appointments that should be requested through Anima are GP appointments.

Is Anima an App?

No, Anima is not an app currently. It can only be accessed through the website. The Anima team are working on integration with the NHS app and we will update you when this has happened.

You can log into Anima using your NHS app login credentials, or create your own unique Anima username and password.

Can I contact Anima directly?

Yes! We would encourage you to email Anima’s support team on support@animahealth.com if you have trouble using the website.
